Natalie Gumede Cast as Mercy Graves on Titans

Natalie Gumede has been cast as DC baddie Mercy Graves in Titans Season 2! According to Deadline Hollywood, who broke the news, Gumede will be a recurring guest star in the second season of the DC Universe drama. Here is how they describe the Titans version of Mercy:

“Mercy Graves is the ruthless, cunning, right hand and bodyguard to the notorious Lex Luthor – serving her boss with unquestioned loyalty. Her connection to the Luthors runs deep, as Mercy has been a friend of the family and in Lex’s life since they were young.”

This would be the second time that Mercy appears in live-action TV as Rhona Mitra recently played her in the fourth season of Supergirl. On the big screen, Tao Okamoto played her in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Hopefully the Titans version won’t face the same fate that Mitra and Okamoto’s respective versions did in their versions (spoiler alert: both versions got killed off.)

Season 2 will feature several new characters, from Joshua Orpin as Superboy, Esai Morales as Deathstroke, Chella Man as Jericho. Chelsea Zhang as Ravager, Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne and Drew Van Acker (rumored to be Aqualad). While nothing has been announced yet, we will hopefully have more details about Season 2 at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con next month.

“Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.”
